Blue Jasmine - Casual Thai Restaurant at Park Hotel Farrer Park #FoodMakesCalHappy
Visited Blue Jasmine the other day with some foodie friends and wow, it has got to be one of the most relaxing & yummy dinners I’ve ever had.
Located right at Park Hotel Farrer Park, Blue Jasmine is a casual-chic restaurant that offers Thai food which focuses on perennial Thai classics and much-loved Thai street food staples.
First up is the Green Papaya Salad with Salted Egg. Papaya salad is a must-have for me whenever I eat Thai food and I believe that many are familiar with it. But I’ve never seen one that is paired with salted egg, not even when I visited Thailand previously.
The mix of green papaya, cherry tomato, dry shrimp, roasted peanut, long bean are nicely seasoned with lime juice, fish sauce, Thai palm sugar & Thai garlic while the slightly unusual salted egg adds in a nicely salty flavour to it.
Personally, I love the overall flavour but some may find it a bit too strong.
This Red Curry Chicken is one the best dishes of the night. Made with fragrant house-made fresh coconut milk-based curry paste and grapes, pineapples and lychees, the sweet-savoury flavour is simply amazing.
The only other time I’ve had fruits with meat is perhaps Sweet & Sour Pork. Who knew that fruits work well in curry chicken too? Amazing! 1 red curry with 3 bowls of rice is definitely possible for me.
Phad Kee Mao, or Thai drunken noodles is a stir-fried kway teow with prawns, squid, egg and vegetables. It tasted similar to a Singapore fried kway teow, but with the addition of sweet dark soy sauce, Thai sweet basil and bird’s eye chilli.
The overall flavour is really fragrant and is really satisfying.
Tom yum is another one of my must-haves when having Thai cuisine and this certainly did not disappoint.
This Seafood Tom Yum from the noodle lunch set contains not only Seafood, Farm Mushrooms, Lemon Grass, Sour Tomato, Galangal, Coriander Root, Kaffir Lime Leaf, Chilli & Lime Juice, but also Tang Hoon! Yes, glass noodles which soaks up the flavourful soup.
The set also comes with 2 popiahs and mango sticky rice :)
Deep-fried beef loin flavoured with coriander roots and seeds, as well as white sesame and white pepper, this Sesame Beef is spicy, aromatic & will go great with alcohol.
A good meal must end with a good dessert! This Red Ruby – Boiled Water Chestnut Coated with Tapioca Flour, served with Jack Fruit & Coconut Sorbet, not only tasted good but is really beautiful presented as well!
We had a really enjoyable dinner at Blue Jasmine. Good food, relaxing music, beautiful decoration & amazing light for photo taking ahahaha.
